Born on September 16, 1894, in the small town of Hjo, Estrid spent her early years surrounded by artisan workshops, fine carpentry, and breathtaking views of Lake Vättern.
Her upbringing in this charming wooden town laid the foundation for her keen eye for detail, color, and material—traits that later defined the expression of Svenskt Tenn.

After studying at the School of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg, she founded Svenskt Tenn in 1924, a company that would go on to revolutionize Swedish interior design.
