Environment and sustainability

We at Bellevue love nature and therefore work as climate-smart as we can. This is also why you can sleep in organic tank tops in a room that is cleaned with environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Many of the products during  dinner and breakfast are organic and locally produced. Coffee and bananas are of course also fair trade-classified.

In addition to this, we try as much as possible to work paperless and source sort what is possible.

We are also part of the Sustainability Life >> to help in the work towards a sustainable hospitality industry.

Accommodation & Conference

 

The local work

In order to contribute to our society, we regularly take on both interns and people who work train to return to working life after, for example, a long illness.

In addition to this, we work a lot with young people who are new to working life, or for various reasons have ended up wrong, both educated and those who lack vocational training, summer workers and new graduates.

Those who do not have an education are introduced on site and our department heads are very committed to helping people get into work, grow and develop, as well as finding new jobs after completing their employment with us.

We also support various organizations in the municipality and Sweden that want to work for a better life such as

We believe that the industry must be supported closely in order to have a long-term impact on the environment. There we also get distances in transports for our goods.

We try to minimize the use of disposable items and in those cases choose eco-labeled items.

Source sorting takes place of glass, metal, porcelain, paper, plastic, deposit, environmentally hazardous waste, electronics and cardboard. Food waste is sorted and weighed for statistics, unfortunately our supplier of waste in the municipality can not handle that sorting yet.

We also work here with linen from Rikstvätt which is eco-labeled.

The chefs try to reduce their waste in the raw materials and constantly try to find innovative ways to use more of the raw material before it is consumed. For example, we cook our own fund on meat leftovers, leftovers from vegetables, etc. and make soups on ex broccoli stems.

EAccommodation & Conference

In our lovely hotel rooms, we have tried to think from the most important and impactful that our furnitures should be as sustainable as possible by renovating them as needed and then giving them a new life by donating / selling to organizations and through flea markets.

Our linen  are eco-linen which is manufactured and then also washed organically. All textiles from towel to duvet cover are Eco.

The rooms are cleaned with eco-labeled gentle chemicals.

All our guests can help by using their towels more than once. Thinking about taking only what you can eat at the buffet, helps with the sustainability of our environment.  Since the summer of 2019  you can say No to cleaning during their stay and at the same time contribute SEK 10 to WWF.

Total contribution so far:

When you confer with us, our papers and pens are eco-labeled. We also use tap water instead of bottled water as much as possible and avoid disposable.

We work with eco-labeled cleaning products and all our floors are cleaned with traditional green soap.

The restaurant

In the restaurant, we work according to the following order of priority;

Local – for the Swedish countryside to survive and be able to develop.

Ilovehjo

Energy & water

The house energy supply for heating takes place primarily with geothermal heat. The electricity purchased is eco-labeled.

We work together with the property owner Wennergrens Byggnads AB to make the houses as energy efficient as possible while preserving the beautiful architecture.

Where applicable, nozzles are used to reduce water consumption and toilets are flush-free.

We try to work with exclusively LED lamps and energy-efficient alternatives in both rooms and public areas. There are timers for lighting in public areas and corridors as well as decorative lighting so that it does not turn on unnecessarily.

 

You as a guest

You can help us in our sustainability work by:

Taking only what you can finish from the buffet to reduce waste that has to be thrown away.

Feel free to reuse your cup / glass for a longer period of time during the day

Do not leave lighting and TV on when you are not in the room.

If you want to reuse your towel, hang it on the hook in the bathroom.
