The town Hjo has a lot to offer.
On this side you will find some of the activities and experience around Hjo.
From the start the name was Hyo and not Hjo and year 2013 we celibrated 600 years as a town.
The town was founded by Erik Eriksson, also knowed as King Erik with the limp and lisp. Then it was around 350 people living in Hjo. Today Hjo is a vivid touristlocation and have a big industri. The population has risen to 10 000 people.

Samskoleparken – The small park outside Kulturkvarteret has several large old trees that provide shade on hot days. In recent years, there have been several outdoor exhibitions with different themes.
Norra Fågelås Church – Norra Fågelås Church is located in Hjo parish on the western shore of Lake Vättern and our oldest church dating back to the 12th century
Hjo Church – In the middle of the village is the approximately 200-year-old church. During some of the city walks you can go up the tall church tower.
Grevbäck’s homestead and museum – Just north of Hjo you will find the 200-year-old semi-detached house with museum objects from the area

Sanna Friluftsområde – Sanna Friluftsområde is located in central Hjo. Here you can take the opportunity to take a walk or go out and run a few laps around the track which is 1.2 kilometers long.
